NEW DESIGNER AWARDS BEST TRENDSETTER OF THE YEAR

At the iconic Zappeion Megaron on April 12th, in a night full of emerging designers, MIA PAPA has been recognised with the BEST TRENDSETTER AWARD during the 30th Athens Xclusive Designers Week in the New Designer Awards.

Judged by an international panel of experts in the industry, the award-winning creative director, Mia Papaefthimiou-Milcic, spoke of receiving this honor:

“As a sustainable fashion brand, I am proud of this trendsetter award as it shows that the trend is shifting towards recognising and rewarding these practices. It’s hard work, staying true to the principles of sustainable fashion, and I thank my team, my green certified suppliers and producers for their dedication and support in working with me to create an ethical brand.”

Premiering the second drop of SS22 Delphi Collection, which features MIA PAPA’s signature organic Soufli silk in bold black, ivory and gold prints adorned by the the Temple of Athena in Delphi, the collection showed flowing kimonos over wide leg silk trousers and backless slip dresses, a belted shirt dress in gold and ivory that is a resortwear must-have and the dynamic finale of a black, maxi length wrap dress trimmed in gold details. 

Also shown from the Delphi Collection, featuring sophisticated patterns based on the floor plans of Delphi's Oracle, we saw airy linens with colourful twill silk accents in short kimonos, fluid trousers, and Egyptian blue and Moroccan green shirt dresses in a flirty mini as well as a striking midi length. The collection’s highlight was the off the shoulder Nefeli dress made from luxuriously textured, raw Peace Silk in ivory, with a colourful silk twill belt and sleeve accents.

The show of modern yet timeless pieces expressed MIA PAPA’s vocabulary of sensual, polished luxury and female nature.. Athens Xclusive Designers Week, this year, supports the Center for Gender Rights and Equality, DIOTIMA, focusing on Diversity, Equality, Female Empowerment and Love. This is in alignment with MIA PAPA’s goal to elevate and empower women.
